The ZENDOME.75M functioned as a centre for public discussion as 'Mobile Ö1 Atelier' for Radio Austria 1. Ö1 covered the 30th anniversary of the Ars Electronica in Linz in September of 2009 and presented contemporary Japanese Media Art inside the 'Space for Ideas'.
As a space for Exhibitions, Action and Discussions of this world wide unique platform for digital art and media culture, the geodesic dome by the Austrian distribution partner invited the visitors not only to marvel at the prize winning works of the Japan Media Art Festival but also to actively participate. With the blending of Media Art and Game Design a new art form could be experienced live.
At the same time the geodesic cupola provided the public with the possibility of direct communication and reflection in a relaxed atmosphere. The main theme of the Ars Electronica 2009 “Human Nature” was open for discussion. How are humans portrayed within the new game worlds? How is perception and design of landscapes and architecture changing? How do we act in virtual parallel worlds?
