PROJEKT MITTELRHEINKIRSCHE
BUNDESGARTENSCHAU KOBLENZ 2011

At the core of the exhibition “Experience Diversity – Cherry Sort Project” in the ZENDOME.30M, visitors of the National Garden Show Koblenz 2011 can gather information about the cultural landscape projects of the “Ländliche Bodenordnung Rheinland-Pfalz” and at the same time realise how biological diversity can be preserved.

Using the indigenous cherry as an example, the wide range of different sorts is made clear through sensuous experience.

Visitors arrive in the geodesic dome via the “cherry walk”, a fantastic array of colours, forms and tastes. A sensual experience path with over 50 cherry sorts thought to be extinct shows the wide variety of “Perls” of the Middle Rhine which is unique nation wide.

With this project the “Ländliche Kulturordnung Rheinland Pfalz” wants to contribute its part to preserving and further developing the cultural landscape along the Middle Rhine.
