Following the motto '“smart materials – new design” the ZENDOME.150M was a highlight of the international forum Designer's Open on the grounds of the cotton spinning mill in Leipzig, in October of 2011.
The geodesic dome, which welcomed the 12,500 enthusiastic visitors at the entrance to the fair, was the perfect fit for the “Hottest Place on Earth” (The Guardian), home of Neo Rauch and base of the “Neue Leipziger Schule”.
The organisers Jan Hartmann and Andreas Neubert used the ZENDOME.150M as a central information space for the festival. With its 8 meter high cupola, it was open to all who were interested in innovative product design, extraordinary fashion shows and material trends of tomorrow.
In the focus of the accompanying conferences with presentations by renowned speakers from economy, science, design and architecture, were new methods and technologies. As partner of the Designers’ Open, ZENDOME congratulates all winners of a DO jury award.
